UFC 293: Adesanya v Strickland

The former two-time UFC middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya is considered to be one of the greatest contenders to ever compete in the division. It is not that the 35-year-old mixed martial artist has never lost in any of his matches. But, the former champion has always shown his class and charm by bouncing back from those losses and has dominated the middleweight division for quite some time now.

After losing the title to Sean Strickland in September 2023, Adesanya took a break from the fight business. However, 'The Last Stylebender' made his octagon return in August 2023 against the reigning champion, Dricus du Plessis. Even though he could not win back the middleweight gold, Adesanya will be facing Nassourdine Imavov on February 1, 2025, in Saudi Arabia.

Israel Adesanya's walkout song

Israel Adesanya does not have a single walkout song, as he keeps changing from bout to bout.

Adesanya enjoys changing things up from one battle to the next. He entered the ring to "Ruggedy Baba" by Ruggedman feat. 9ice before his fight with Costa at UFC 253. "The Undertaker theme" song was played during Adesanya's UFC 276 bout, then "Somewhere I Belong by Linkin Park" was played at UFC 263, and then "Hello Zepp + Overture" was played at UFC 281.

At UFC 287, Israel Adesanya entered the ring to the song "Where You Come From" by DJ Khaled, featuring Buju Banton. When he fought Robert Whittaker again at UFC 271, he used the same song.

With a 24-4 career record, Israel Adesanya is a former two-time UFC Middleweight Champion. He was formerly a kickboxer and is currently ranked No.2 in the UFC's middleweight rankings. He became the champion after knocking out Robert Whittaker at UFC 243 to claim the title of undisputed Middleweight champion.

Adesanya made his professional debut in 2012, defeating James Griffiths via TKO. In August 2015, he returned to mixed martial arts, defeating Song Kenan via TKO. He eventually compiled an 8-0 record, largely competing in Chinese and Oceania circuits.

With five successful title defenses, "The Last Style Bender" is one of the UFC's most dominant Middleweight champions. He stands out from the other combatants due to his prowess on the mike and colorful fighting style. The UFC middleweight champion is renowned for producing some of the most memorable walkouts ever. He understands how to put up a show, to put it briefly.

Israel Adesanya constantly aims to provide a spectacle that appeals to both his audience and himself. Before taking the stage, he is renowned for his theatrical entrances into the battle. Israel Adesanya entered the ring to Charlie Clouser's classic song "Hello Zepp and Overture" for one of the most significant fights of his career. At UFC 281, Adesanya vowed to put on a horror show. And the Saw franchise song accompanying his exit indeed had the MSG crowd going.

In April 2023, at UFC 287, Pereira and Adesanya squared off once more for the UFC Middleweight Championship. Through a second-round knockout, Adesanya claimed victory and the title. With this victory, he was given the Performance of the Night award.

On September 10, 2023, at UFC 293, Adesanya faced Sean Strickland, where he lost the UFC Middleweight belt via a unanimous decision.
