American mixed martial artist Nathan Donald Diaz, a free agent, is renowned for his 15-year involvement with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and his 16 UFC bonus prizes.

At the age of 18, Nate Diaz faced Robert Limon bare-knuckled in his MMA debut. He primarily competed for World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC), and at WEC 24, the last bout before Zuffa, LLC, the parent organization of the UFC, acquired WEC, he was defeated by Hermes França in 2006.

On September 10, 2022, Diaz faced Khamzat Chimaev in the final UFC 279 main event. Chimaev was eliminated due to weight loss, while Tony Ferguson won by guillotine choke submission. Diaz chose not to resign, becoming a free agent.

Diaz, a free agent, made his professional boxing debut against Jake Paul in August 2023 and lost the bout via a unanimous decision. However, Diaz will face his former UFC opponent Jorge Masvidal inside the ring on July 6, 2024.

Nate’s older brother, Nickolas Robert Diaz, who is now retired, competed in the middleweight division of the UFC. He had previously held the welterweight titles in Strikeforce, the WEC, and the IFC, as well as challenged for the UFC belt.

Nick made a comeback for a rematch against Robbie Lawler at UFC 266 on September 25, 2021, following a lengthy absence since 2015. The middleweight contest was a special five-round fight without a title or main event. Diaz was knocked to the ground in the third round after a back-and-forth battle, but he was given the chance to get back up. Diaz continued to be on his back and verbally gave up, suffering a TKO defeat.
