Sagid Murtazaliev: A Brief Biography
Sagid Murtazaliev is a Russian wrestler and Olympic champion in Freestyle wrestling. Murtazaliev competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney where he received a gold medal in Freestyle wrestling, the heavyweight class. In 2001, a bomb was found near Murtazaliev\'s home in Kizlyar. On April 12, 2010, Murtazaliev, who had been the head of Kizlyarsky District, became the head of the Dagestan branch of the Russian pension fund.Murtazaliev returned his Olympic gold in protest of the IOC\'s decision to eliminate wrestling.
