Roethlisberger played college football at Miami University. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. He was drafted by the Steelers in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft and was the 11th overall pick. In 2004 he earned the AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award and in 2007 his first Pro Bowl selection. In his five NFL seasons, Ben has also won the AFC North Division title three times. In 2006 he became the youngest quarterback to win a Super Bowl in the history of the NFL, at the age of 23. He led the Steelers to a 21–10 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XL. Roethlisberger’s second Super Bowl title was when he helped the Steelers emerge victorious over the Arizona Cardinals in Super Bowl XLIII, 27–23. His third Super Bowl appearance was the Super Bowl XLV, but his team lost by a margin of 31–25 to the Green Bay Packers.

In NFL career passing yards, he is currently ranked 7th all-time and 12th all-time in passer rating (94.3). As a starter in the regular season, he also has the fourth-highest career winning percentage (0.710) among quarterbacks with a minimum of 100 starts. In NFL’s history, he is one of the six quarterbacks to have beaten at least 31 of the current NFL teams.

Ben had to sit out of the 2019 season due to undergoing a right elbow surgery famously known as the Tommy John Surgery (TJS). The veteran quarterback has been signed by the Steelers to a new contract for the upcoming season. As part of the new contract, the Big Ben will receive a $12.925 million signing bonus and a $1.075 million base salary.
