Jordan Poole will need to step up for the Warriors rotation

When you look at the Warriors' projected starting five, you can easily find yourself excited about the potential. Anytime your lineup starts with the likes of Stephen Curry, you're probably going to be happy on a nightly basis. Once you get through the starting five, there's going to be some questions about how the Warriors rotation will develop. The fact is that this Warriors team is dealing with some injuries heading up into the 2021-22 season. Second-year big man James Wiseman is recovering from offseason surgery and is expected to be out for a bit. Klay Thompson is expected to potentially miss the majority of the first half of the season.

So what players will step up until the team is at full health? Third-year guard Jordan Poole has been fantastic in preseason so far and looks like the favorite to take over the starting shooting guard position until Thompson returns. From there, expect the Warriors to rely on the versatility of Otto Porter Jr. off the bench. Porter has struggled with his health over the last couple of years, but if he can stay healthy he should be a big asset for the rotation.

#1 Rebounding

The Warriors will need James Wiseman to be a factor on the glass this year.
The Warriors will need James Wiseman to be a factor on the glass this year.

Although the Golden State roster added a potential rebounding talent like James Wiseman in last year's draft, they still struggle when it comes to dominating the boards on a nightly basis. The team finished last year 22nd in total rebounds per game and they will need to find a way to improve that number this year. Kevon Looney looks like the favorite to start out the year at center alongside Draymond Green. Until Wiseman returns from his injury, the Warriors will need someone to step up with their effort on the glass. That could lead to some extended minutes for players like Nemanja Bjelica or even Andre Iguodala. Remember, the Warriors love to play small ball, so figuring out a way to make a bigger impact on the boards could be a challenge.
