Atlanta Hawks vs New Orleans Pelicans preview
The Hawks got their season to a great start with two wins but have since dropped four straight. Their most recent loss was a 123-115 defeat against the Sacramento Kings on Friday. Trae Young had 25 points and 12 assists. Atlanta has been severely hampered by Bogdan Bogdanovic’s absence, who is not expected to return until early December at least.
Until then, the Hawks will have to rely on Young to carry them to a competitive record so that they can stay in the race for a playoff spot when Bogdanovic returns.
The Pelicans are another team that has been hit hard with injuries. Their summer acquisition, Dejounte Murray, underwent hand surgery after injuring it during the preseason. He isn’t expected to return until mid-December. Trey Murphy III continues to be out with a hamstring injury as well and hasn’t played this season.
New Orleans will also be without CJ McCollum for some time as he was diagnosed with a right adductor strain on Friday. The team is coming off of a 125-118 win against the Indiana Pacers on Friday. Zion Williamson had 34 points and 10 assists, while Brandon Ingram had 26 points.
