The Phoenix Suns had a blowout win against the LA Lakers on Monday, defeating them 138-111 on Crypto.com. It was the sixth game of the season that the Suns trio of Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal was on the court.

After the game, Suns big man Jusuf Nurkic took to X (formerly Twitter) and hilariously trolled Fox Sports’ analyst Nick Wright on “First Thing First”. The timing of the post alluded to Wright’s previous take on Suns and Lakers trios and duos, where he ranked Lakers higher than the Suns.

Perhaps, Nurkic was keeping a receipt of Wright’s statements and waiting for the right time to respond. He posted a gif on X, which hade this written on it:

“Nick wrong, common L.”

He also captioned his post:

“Just wondering How he sleeps?”

So far into the season, despite the Suns’ trio having barely shared the court together, the team has a better record than the Lakers. On the other hand, the Lakers trio of LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Austin Reaves haven’t faced injury issues in the season and they are below 500 in the season. They are ranked 10th in the West with a 19-20 record.

In the win against the Lakers, KD, Bradley Beal and Booker all played a total of 98 minutes together. They scored 86 points combined. LeBron, AD and Reaves played a total of 86 minutes together and scored a combined 36 points in the game.

Nick Wright ranked the Lakers' LeBron-AD duo higher than Suns' Booker-KD

After the Phoenix Suns added Bradley Beal in a trade with the Washington Wizards, they formed Big 3 in the Valley. While many would disagree with Nick Wright, on his show “First Thing First”, the sports analyst ranked the LeBron James and Anthony Davis duo higher than Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.

This wasn't the first time that Wright had spoken about the Suns on his show. In June, when Damian Lillard was rumored to be traded to the Miami Heat, Wright had ranked the trio of LeBron, AD and Austin Reaves higher than KD, Booker and Beal.

It was an interesting take by an analyst of Wright’s caliber. As far as the question of duos goes, he might have a valid point. However, putting Reaves in the trio and ranking them against possibly the three best scorers in the league seems too much.

Moreover, the Suns' trio haven't had enough games together to build chemistry in the season, precisely because of Beal's injury. He has only played 13 of the 38 games for the Suns.
