Kevin Durant opened his 19th season against his former team OKC Thunder, on Tuesday. In hope of his third championship with a talented young team around him, Durant took a backseat in the first few minutes, while Amen Thompson and Jabari Smith Jr. dominated.

In the first five minutes, Durant scored just 2 points on 1 of 2 shooting. With just over five minutes remaining in the first quarter, he scored his 4th point with a contested floater while the Thunder crowd booed him. KD played the entire first quarter and ended up with 8 points.

Durant scored his 10th point in the second quarter with a jumper. He scored the Thunder's next two points with a beautiful jumper over Lou Dort. Kevin Durant scored two more points and ended the quarter with 14 points.

Durant scored his 16th point with an 8-foot jumper and remained passive in the next seven minutes. KD had a low third quarter, ending which included just 3 points. Durant scored just 3 points in the fourth quarter before the game went to overtime, which included a missed free-throw that could have sealed the game for the Rockets.

In double overtime loss, Durant finished the game with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists in 47 minutes.

Kevin Durant through four quarters against Thunder in season-opener

Kevin Durant opened his first quarter very slowly. He had just 2 points in the first five minutes. After a passive few minutes, the Rockets' star scored 4th point with a contested attempt. The 2x NBA champion missed the next two shots, including an open 3-point shot.

His 5th and 6th points came with free throws, and the next two points with a jumper over two defenders under him. He missed his last two shots of the 1st quarter.

Durant was subbed out in the 2nd quarter, but watching the Rockets struggle, he quickly subbed him in within three minutes. He missed his first shot and remained dormant right before three minutes remaining. He scored six more points within the last 3 minutes to end the quarter with 14 points.

He scored his 16th point within two minutes after returning from halftime. Durant's next point came with two minutes remaining, with one free throw. The 37-year-old ended the quarter with 17 points.

In the fourth quarter, Kevin Durant entered after five minutes in the quarter. He scored his 19th point with a 19-foot jumper and his 20th point with a free throw. With a chance to give his team a 2-point lead, Durant missed one of the free throws.

He didn't score a point in first overtime as the game went to another overtime. Durant scored another 3 points with an and-1 in the second overtime.
