LeBron James sends his thoughts and prayers to Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin and family.

LeBron James and the LA Lakers just wrapped up a big 121-115 on the road against the Charlotte Hornets. The four-time MVP had another spectacular outing, dropping 43 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in the win.

After the game, “King James” promptly commented on the Damar Hamlin situation:

"My thoughts and super prayers goes up to the skies above for that kid's family, for him, for that brotherhood of the NFL...and it's definitely the right call (to suspend the game)...I'm a huge fan of the NFL...you never wanna see anything like that happen. The safety of players in all sports is always the most important.”

The Monday Night Football game between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals was suspended after Hamlin collapsed. Bills safety Hamlin tackled Tee Higgins after the Bengals wide receiver completed a 13-yard run.

Hamlin stood up but immediately collapsed. Medical personnel quickly came out of the tunnel to attend to Hamlin, who was given CPR. Joe Buck, who called the play-by-play, informed everyone that Hamlin was on oxygen as he was placed inside the ambulance.

Several players from both teams were visibly-distraught, including Bills quarterback Josh Allen. Bengals coach Zac Taylor and Bills signal-caller Sean McDermott talked it over with game officials to suspend the game.

Buffalo Bills players and staff who were on the field formed a circle as they knelt for Damar Hamlin. Roughly an hour after the incident, the NFL officially announced that the game had been canceled. No information has yet been given on when the game will resume.

LeBron James is known to be a huge football fan. He roots for the LA Rams as he plays in Los Angeles but gave up on the Dallas Cowboys. The 18x All-Star is also a big follower of the Cleveland Browns.

LeBron James has dropped back-to-back 40-point games.

LeBron James exploded for 47 points last December 30, his birthday, against the Atlanta Hawks. He just followed it up with a 43 versus the Charlotte Hornets. He’s now averaging 45 points as a 38-year-old veteran.

When asked to comment on the stat, James had this to say:

“Keeping my mind fresh and putting in the work. More importantly, trusting my teammates; trusting your teammates and the game will take care of itself.”

Michael Jordan holds the record for most 40-point games by a player 38 years of age or older. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is second with three such games. LeBron James has just played his second game as a 38-year-old player.

It won’t surprise many if he breaks MJ’s record before the All-Star break. Unless he gets injured, that record could be his sooner rather than later with the way he has been playing.

Over his last 10 games, James is averaging 33.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game and hitting 83% of his free throws. He is not just playing at an All-Star level. “King James” is showing the basketball world that he can still be at an MVP level when the situation calls for it.
