Patrick Beverley looks on at a game

Former LA Lakers guard Patrick Beverley revealed that the Golden State Warriors and the Chicago Bulls are potential landing spots for him. Speaking on an episode of the "Pat Bev Podcast", Beverley revealed the details of the same.

Patrick Beverley has earned a reputation as a top-tier defender and pest in the NBA. While his reputation has made him a fan favorite with every team he has been on, Beverley has had a hard time staying on one team as of late.

After being traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves last season, Beverley took on the role of locker room leader for the T'Wolves. While doing this, he immediately turned the team into a playoff competitor.

However, his stay was cut short when Minnesota traded for Rudy Gobert in the offseason. After bouncing from the Jazz to the Lakers in the offseason, Beverley seems to have found a home back in LA. Unfortunately, he was traded to the Orlando Magic ahead of the trade deadline.

After being traded to the Magic, Pat Bev and Orlando agreed upon a buyout. Now on the buyout market, Beverley revealed on an episode of "The Pat Bev Podcast" that he was likely to join the Chicago Bulls or the Golden State Warriors.

He said:

"It was between Golden State and the Bulls."

The notion of Beverley joining either team was tantalizing in itself. Considering Golden State's system, Beverley could only fit in as a backup in a role similar to Gary Payton II's. Considering that Payton will be sidelined for a significant amount of time, Beverley could be a solid filler in his place.

Meanwhile, Chicago would be a more sentimental pick in this regard. As a Chicago native, Beverley will return home to play for the Bulls. While also considering Chicago's decrepit guard situation, Pat Bev could offer a lot of support in the guard rotation as well as a leader.

Patrick Beverley will go to the Chicago Bulls

While Patrick Beverley mentioned that the decision came down to the Golden State Warriors and the Chicago Bulls, Beverley will officially head home. As per an announcement made by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Bulls are nearing a deal to sign Beverley for the remainder of the season.

Beverley could be a great pickup for Chicago. While the team have some impressive players on their roster, they haven't been able to replicate the success it had last year.

The Bulls haven't been able to get things off the ground. This is primarily due to shortages in their guard rotation. Beverley's arrival could certainly help them on the defensive and leadership front in this context.

While a lot of eyes were set on the Bulls due to the turbulent state of their roster, Chicago made virtually no moves ahead of the trade deadline. In order to acquire Beverley, however, they will be required to waive a player to open up space on their roster.

It will be interesting to see whether Patrick Beverley can keep his streak of making the playoffs alive with the Bulls.
