Tee Morant is being trolled on social media amid Ja Morant's controversy and subsequent suspension. While the Memphis Grizzlies superstar released a statement regarding the situation, his father has been silent despite being a regular at his son's games.

Ja has been making headlines recently, from allegedly beating up on a teenage boy last summer to threatening mall officials in Memphis. He was also caught on camera using gun celebrations in a game before going on Instagram live and brandishing a firearm.

The Grizzlies suspended him for at least two games, but head coach Taylor Jenkins is unsure when his superstar guard will return to the team. The NBA, as well as the Glendale Police Department in Colorado, have opened up an investigation.

Ja Morant has issued an apology to his family, teammates, fans and the entire Memphis Grizzlies organization for his actions. Morant has also deleted his Twitter and Instagram accounts, possibly as part of his better methods of dealing with stress. He released the following statement:

"I take full responsibility for my actions last night," Morant said in a statement. "I'm sorry to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Memphis and the entire Grizzlies organization for letting you down. I'm going to take some time away to get help and work on learning better methods of dealing with stress and my overall well-being."

However, the apology didn't prevent fans on social media from trolling his father, Tee Morant. Some fans were making fun of the situation, while others were very critical of Tee for letting his son make terrible decisions and surrounding himself with the wrong people.

ESPN's Stephen A. Smith sent a message to Tee Morant on a recent episode of "First Take." Smith wants Tee to stop trying to be a friend to Ja and become the father that he used to be.

"I'm simply trying to highlight and illuminate to Tee Morant the importance of him being a dad," Smith said. "You raised him. You helped get him to this point. Make sure that you don't let anybody get in the way of what he is on the verge of accomplishing.
"Make sure you do your part in protecting him instead of joining in to have a good time like you're one of his boys. You're not one of his boys. You're his dad."
