According to Forbes, Jordan's net worth is around $1.7 billion and his wealth mostly came from his partnership with Nike. He has reportedly earned more than $2 billion from Nike and other businesses.

Meanwhile, Celebrity Net Worth estimates MJ's net worth to be closer to $2.2 billion. While most of his income comes from the sales of his Air Jordan Brand, the majority of his net worth comes from his NBA team, the Charlotte Hornets.

Michael Jordan bought the then-Charlotte Bobcats in 2010 for $175 million. The Charlotte Hornets are now reportedly valued at $1.7 billion, and Jordan owns 80% of the team.

MJ sold 20% stake of his stake to two New York-based investors in 2020 for around $300 million. The new minority owners of the Hornets are Gabe Plotkin of Melvin Capital and Daniel Sundheim of DI Capital.

Jordan also co-owns a NASCAR team with Denny Hamlin named 23XI Racing. The team is reportedly valued at $150 million. He expanded his portfolio in 2020 by buying an equity stake in DraftKings. Michael Jordan celebrated his 60th birthday on Friday by donating $10 million to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Jordan has been granting wishes for them since 1989 and has been an ambassador since 2008.

The $10 million gift is the largest individual donation in the history of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. It will be used as an endownment for future wishes of children with critical illnesses. Jordan said:

"For the past 34 years, it's been an honor to partner with Make-A-Wish and help bring a smile and happiness to so many kids," Jordan said in an official statement. "Witnessing their strength and resilience during such a tough time in their lives has truly been an inspiration.
I can't think of a better birthday gift than seeing others join me in supporting Make-A-Wish so that every child can experience the magic of having their wish come true."
