The Golden State Warriors are making crucial roster moves with just 12 games left in their regular season. The Athletic's Shams Charania has reported that the defending champions plan to convert two-way forward Anthony Lamb's contract into a standard deal for the rest of the season.

The Warriors have relied on Lamb to be an integral player in their rotation. He has been among the rare bright spots for the Dubs this season. Lamb has played 50 games and averaged 7.0 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists over 20.1 minutes, shooting 47.5%, including 37.9% from 3-point range.

The Warriors needed to make a quick call on Lamb's contract as he had reached the 50-game barrier for two-way players.

Golden State is thin on frontcourt depth, with Andrew Wiggins sidelined indefinitely due to personal reasons, Draymond Green suspended for a game after picking up his 16th technical foul of the year against the LA Clippers on Wednesday and Andre Iguodala out with a wrist fracture.

Signing Anthony Lamb to a standard deal makes sense, as he has been with the Golden State Warriors all year and understands the system. Lamb has emerged as one of the team's most intense players. The Warriors will need that as they aim to turn around their road record (7-27) and finish the season in the top six.

Anthony Lamb is available for Golden State Warriors' next game against Atlanta Hawks

The Golden State Warriors will play their second game of a five-game road trip against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday. The Warriors will have Anthony Lamb available in their rotation for the contest. It is a much-needed boost for the team following Draymond Green's suspension.

Green picked up a suspension-warranting 16th technical of the year after throwing the ball at Russell Westbrook's head toward the end of the first half of the game against the Clippers. The Warriors' road woes continued in that game as they lost 134-126. It was their ninth consecutive loss away from home.

Anthony Lamb, JaMychal Green and Jonathan Kuminga will likely receive significant playing time in Draymond's absence. The Warriors are searching for their first road win since their 128-120 win over the OKC Thunder on Jan. 30.
