Satou Sabally is a German-American professional basketball player born on April 25, 1998, in New York City. She is 6 feet 4 inches (193 cm) tall and plays as a Small Forward position for the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA. She also plays in the "Unrivaled" 3x3 basketball league for team Phantom. Sabally won the WNBA Most Improved Player of the Year in 2023 and is also a EuroLeague champion (2023) among other impressive accolades. In the year 2020, she announced her availability for the WNBA draft and was picked with the 2nd overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft by the Dallas Wings, where she stayed till 2024. Since then, Sabally has been an All-Star in the WNBA three times.
Sabally’s journey started with the University of Oregon, where she played college basketball for the Ducks. The pair of sisters played for the German Women’s National Basketball Team in the 2024 Paris Olympics. She also has a brother, Lamin Sabally competes collegiately for the Iona University Athletics.
