Since retiring from professional basketball, O'Neal has mostly been a basketball analyst. The multi-talented player is also a DJ, while sustaining an acting career, and IMDb credits him with 74 different roles. His most notable movie is "Steel" from 1997, and O'Neal would love to remake it.

“When we did the movie, I would have liked to have those Iron Man effects," O'Neal said regarding his movie. "But nah, we did the movie in the early ’90s, and technology wasn’t as it is now, but I would love to be able to do a redo of that.” - via Popculture.

"Steel" is a superhero movie based on the DC Comics character of the same name. The movie follows John Henry, a scientist who works for the United States military. Henry eventually resigns from his job and turns into a superhero vigilante.

Despite having a budget of $16 million, the movie was considered a box office flop as it only earned $1.7 million domestically. However, there is a chance that the remake will be much better.

"If you look at the Steel character, it’s me," O'Neal said, commenting on the lack of special effects in the movie. "It’s all me, John Henry Irons is me.”

The movie was released in August 1997, before Shaquille O'Neal's second season with the Los Angeles Lakers. While he was a fantastic basketball player, Shaq wasn't a great actor. However, he believes that the remake will receive better reviews.

“Same effects that they use in the movies, that they use now,” Shaq said. “I think it would be much better appreciated.”

Since he is no longer a professional basketball player, O'Neal will probably have more time to focus on his acting. However, it's questionable if the "Steel" remake would perform any better than the original movie.

Shaquille O'Neal landed his first major movie role in 1996 with "Kazaam." In this comedy, the basketball legend played a genie who grants wishes. However, this was another box office flop as the movie couldn't even break even.

After "Steel," Shaq played in "He Got Game" with Ray Allen and Denzel Washington, and he also appeared in "Scary Movie 4."
