New Kansas State signee Dylan Edwards has been tabbed as one of the fastest running backs in college football. Edwards began his high school football career at Derby High School where he was awarded with the Gatorade Kansas Player of the Year in his junior year. Edwards led the school to the Kansas 6A state championship for two consecutive seasons. He concluded his prep career rushing 6,426 yards on 622 carries with 95 touchdowns in 36 games. The four-star recruit from Kansas was one of the top players in the ESPN Top 300 list.

The No.2 player from the state of Kansas in the 2023 recruiting class committed to Colorado Buffaloes for his freshman year of college football. He held several offers from Division 1 schools such as Arizona State, Indiana, Iowa State, Michigan State, Minnesota, Missouri, Notre Dame, Oregon and Wisconsin among others. As a freshman in 2023, Edwards saw action in 11 games starting in six, and registered 76 carries for 321 yards. He also made 36 receptions for 299 yards and four touchdowns. Colorado’s leading rusher from last season decided to transfer to Kansas State Wildcats in 2024 and will have three years of eligibility remaining.

The running back from Derby, Dylan Edwards has recorded his 40-time dash at 4.38 seconds at the 2020 Sharp Performance Showcase. The 40-time is used to measure the speed and acceleration of the players. He also reached 28.4 inches in the vertical jump.

Edwards also won the Under Armour Future 50 Fastest Man competition when he recorded a 40-yard dash time of 4.41 seconds.
