Penn State running back Kaytron Allen has earned the starting role in Happy Valley over the past two seasons. Allen started his high school football career at IMG Academy where he was a captain during his senior season and recorded 1,400 rushing yards and 27 total touchdowns. Allen was rated a four-star recruit by every major sports outlet and was ranked the No.11 running back in the state of Florida. Coming out of IMG as the No.18 prospect in the state of Florida in the 2022 recruiting class, Allen started his collegiate football journey with Penn State over offers from Arizona, Florida State, Georgia Tech, LSU, Maryland, Ole Miss, Tennessee and USC.

In his true freshman year with the Nittany Lions, Allen saw action in 13 games, rushing for 867 yards on 167 carries with 10 touchdowns. He was named Penn State’s Most Valuable Offensive Player along with his running back partner Nick Singleton. Both of them have formed one of the dynamic rushing duos in college football totalling over 4,000 rushing yards and 41 touchdowns in two seasons at Penn State. Last season, Allen had a productive season with the Lions racking up 902 rushing yards on 172 carries. Despite several rumours, Allen refused to enter the transfer portal and decided to stick with the Nittany Lions for the 2024 season.
