Barely a week left for the much celebrated, mad and riotous festival of cricket called the Indian Premier League to begin from the 23rd of March. Now it's twelfth season in running, the IPL has developed a reputation of being one of the biggest domestic Twenty20 competitions in the world. The season opener for IPL 2019 will be played out between defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). One of the most daunting fixtures will be the one between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings and will be a well-matched contest. Let’s take a look at the head to head statistics of CSK and RR.
As of the eleventh edition of the IPL held in 2018, the teams have faced each other 20 times. All but one of the matches have been played in the Indian Premier League, with the singular match having been played in 2014-15 Champions League Twenty20. The competition is now defunct. The two teams have also faced each other in the final of the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League. Rajasthan Royals came out on top of the encounter as they ran out as the Champions of the first-ever season of IPL.
Taking an overview of the statistics of the class between these two teams, Chennai Super Kings have a slight edge over the Rajasthan Royals. Out of the twenty encounters between the two sides, CSK have won 12 matches compared to RR who have won 8 matches.

The two teams will face again for the 21st time on 31st March in match number 12 of the IPL 2019. The clash will be held at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium also known as the Chepauk Stadium.
