Gujarat Titans had a dream debut season in the IPL 2022 as they were crowned as eventual champions after beating Rajasthan Royals in the final.

The Hardik Pandya-led side will face four-time IPL winners Chennai Super Kings in the tournament opener of IPL 2023 on March 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The Titans have not altered many changes to its core coaching staff that helped them to win the title in their first season. Let's take a look at Gujarat Titans coaching staff and its support staff members for IPL 2023.

Former India fast bowler Ashish Nehra will continue as the head coach of Gujarat Titans after a successful first season last year.

The only coaching experience Nehra had prior to taking the head coach role at GT was being the bowling coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore for two years in 2018 and 2019.

Nehra along with South Africa's Gary Kirsten, who was the batting coach of RCB at that point, was removed from RCB's coaching staff after the team's poor season in IPL 2019. The team managed just five wins in 14 games and finished at the bottom of the points table.

Gary Kirsten is in charge of Gujarat Titans as their batting coach and team mentor for IPL 2023. Kirsten accomplished a commendable job in the batting department of Titans, particularly in the middle order, which bailed the team out of tricky situations on numerous occasions.

Kirsten has vast experience in coaching international cricket as well as franchise tournaments. His most praiseworthy achievement remains winning the World Cup with the Indian men's team as head coach in 2011.

Kirsten later coached the South Africa men's team from 2011 to 2013. He worked as a consultant with the Netherlands cricket team during the 2022 World Cup as the Dutch side not only qualified for the Super 12 stage but also earned an automatic qualification for 2024 T20 World Cup.

Kirsten's coaching experience also includes as head coach of Hobart Hurricanes in 2017-18 BBL season and batting coach of RCB for two seasons (2018-2019).

Gujarat Titans do not have any designated role of a bowling coach in their coaching unit. Neither they had one in their title-winning season in 2022.

The presence of Ashish Nehra as head coach could be the biggest reason why the franchise opted against a full-fledged bowling coach.

Former Indian cricketer Aashish Kapoor was named as spin bowling coach apart from his role of talent scout for the Titans last season. However, the 52-year-old has been elevated to assistant coach's position in 2023. It is expected that Kapoor will have a look in the spin bowling unit.

Titans do not have a fielding coach in its coaching setup but former Delhi cricketer Mithun Manhas, who is one of the four assistant coaches for Titans in 2023, is assumed to be responsible for the team fielding.
