SRH 2024 Head Coach
Former New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori will take over the head coach duties of SunRiSers Hyderabad from the legendary Brian Lara in IPL 2024.
Lara was appointed head coach ahead of the last season. However, under his coaching, the SunRisers endured a disastrous campaign, as they finished at the bottom of the table.
Vettori brings in a plethora of coaching experience, having served in the role for multiple T20 franchises and international teams. The former Kiwi spinner has served as the spin bowling coach of Bangladesh and is currently the assistant and spin bowling coach of the Australian men’s cricket team.
Vettori has also served as the head coach of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) between 2014-18. He is also the coach of the Birmingham Phoenix men’s team in The Hundred.
SRH 2024 Assistant Coach
Australian coach Simon Helmot will continue as the Assistant Coach for the franchise in the upcoming edition of the IPL. Having vast experience as a cricket coach, Helmot has worked with Hyderabad between 2012 and 2019 as well.
Simon headed the coaching staff of Big Bash League’s franchise Melbourne Renegades and even took Trinbago Knight Riders to title victory in the 2015 season of the Caribbean Premier League.
SRH 2024 Batting Coach
Former Indian player Hemang Badani is the SRH coach for batting in IPL 2024. Badani played four Tests and 40 ODI matches for the Indian cricket team. He was once a member of the Chennai Super Kings squad in the IPL.
After retirement, Badani has had a very successful coaching career. He led the Jaffna-based franchise to two Lanka Premier League trophies in 2020 and 2021. Also, TNPL franchise Chepauk Super Gillies have been very successful with Badani as their head coach.
In the first edition of the SA 20 league, Hemang served as the Batting and Fielding Coach for the Sunrisers Eastern Cape, and the side won the inaugural title. The 2022-23 Lankan Premier League was won by Jaffna Kings where Badani was appointed as a Consultant. All these results portray how well he has delivered in this role and can truly be a big plus for the Sunrisers come the 2023 season.
SRH 2024 Bowling Coach
Sunrisers Hyderabad have separate coaches for the fast and spin-bowling department. While legendary pacer Dale Steyn served as their fast-bowling coach last year, former Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan headed the spin-bowling arena.
While Muralitharan will continue in his role, The Orange Army will miss the services of Steyn, who has pulled out of the season due to personal reasons.
The 2016 winners have named former New Zealand left-arm seamer James Franklin as his replacement.
SRH 2024 Fielding Coach
Netherlands’ head coach Ryan Cook will continue to serve as the fielding coach of the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2024. Cook was appointed by the top brass ahead of the IPL 2023 season.
