The Connecticut Open is a professional women's tennis tournament which is held just before the fourth and last Grand Slam of the year, the US Open. The tournament is a part of the US Open Series, a series of hard court tournaments leading up to the US Open.

The tournament is a WTA Premier tournament and figures prominently on the WTA tour. It was a part of the ATP World Tour 250 series till 2010.

Venue and Details

The tournament is held at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center in New Haven, Connecticut.

It will be hosted between 17th and 25th August 2018. The total financial outlay for the tournament is around $799,000.

The 2018 Connecticut Open will be the 50th edition of the tournament, including the exhibition tournaments held at Long Island serving as precursors to the tournament.

2017 Connecticut Open Winners

The women’s singles category of the 2017 Connecticut Open was won by Australian Daria Gavrilova who upstaged second seed Dominika Cibulkova by 4-6, 6-3 and 6-4.

In the women’s doubles event, fourth seeded pair of Gabriela Dabrowski and Xu Yifan beat the experienced Australian pair of Ashleigh Barty and Casey Dellacqua by a margin of 3-6, 6-3 and 10-8.
