Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereira is a Brazilian kickboxer and mixed martial artist. He was born on July 26, 1986, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Pereira is a multiple-time champion in both kickboxing and MMA and is widely regarded as one of the best strikers in combat sports today.


In the sport of kickboxing, he has achieved incredible success, becoming a former champion in both the middleweight and light heavyweight divisions of Glory Kickboxing. Pereira is the first and only fighter to have simultaneously held Glory titles in two weight classes. He has also participated in other notable promotions like It's Showtime and SUPERKOMBAT Fighting Championship.


He currently is the UFC Light Heavyweight champion and is ranked #10 in the UFC men's pound-for-pound rankings.
