Amir 'The Prince' Albazi, born on October 27, 1993, in Baghdad, Iraq, is one of the best mixed martial artists in the flyweight division of the UFC. Growing up in a war-torn environment, he found combat sports as a means of self-defense against bullying and cultural challenges. His journey began in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, where he quickly demonstrated exceptional talent in grappling, which would later shape his unique MMA style. After a decade of training and honing his skills, Albazi finally achieved his dream of fighting in the UFC in 2020. His debut fight against Malcolm Gordon at UFC Fight Night: Figueiredo vs. Benavidez 2 resulted in a decisive triangle choke victory. Since then, he has consistently demonstrated elite skills, earning recognition as one of the most formidable fighters in the UFC flyweight division.

Albazi has amassed a series of notable victories, with his biggest win being a split decision victory over Kai Kara-France in June 2023. His grappling skills are put well into evidence with big wins by submission including rear-naked chokes against opponents such as Francisco Figueiredo. This makes him a big threat on the ground and often finds him in a position where he finishes fights with great efficiency and effectiveness.

Albazi has also managed to execute knockouts, such as against Alessandro Costa in 2022 which earned him a third-round finish by a knockout. Of his fights finished as of October 2024, five were via knockouts and nine were after submitting his opponents.
