Angela "Overkill" Hill is a professional American mixed martial artist competing in the 115-pound strawweight division of the UFC. Born on January 12, 1985, in Prince George's County, Maryland, she is a UFC veteran who specializes in striking and has a Muay Thai background. She was a professional kickboxer prior to transitioning into MMA and shows that in her fighting style. Hill turned professional in MMA in 2014, joining the UFC after only one fight but finding little success in the promotion. Consequently, Hill shifted to Invicta FC, where she became the Invicta Strawweight Champion in 2016. Her success in Invicta brought her back to the UFC, where she has become one of the most active fighters in promotional history, having multiple short-notice fights under her belt.

Throughout her career so far, Hill has faced a who's who of top-level opponents in Tecia Torres, Claudia Gadelha, and Michelle Waterson. She has had her share of ups and downs but has never been knocked out inside the cage. Most of her losses have been closely contested decisions. As of August 2024, she is still operating at a decent level and currently holds a record of 17 wins and 13 losses (17-13-0).

Angela Hill Fighting Style

Angela Hill is known for her dynamic striking and relentless pace, which defines her fighting style. Being a former kickboxer, Hill's stand-up game is characterized by sharp combinations, a good jab, and a diverse array of kicks as she controls distance, dictating the pace of fights. She is good at maintaining a reasonable output and frequently overwhelms her opponents through volume rather than relying on single, powerful strikes.

While Hill is predominantly a striker, she has also demonstrated development in grappling skills. The most recent example was the fight against Luana Pinheiro at UFC Fight Night 241, in May 2024, where Hill scored her first career submission win, using a guillotine choke, and revealed the development of her ground game.

Angela Hill Finishes

Angela Hill has finished her opponent six times in her professional MMA career. Hill has five knockouts and one submission on her record. The strawweight contender’s first submission in her long career took place against Luana Pinheiro. Hill secured a guillotine choke submission in the second round, earning ‘Performance of the Night’ honors in the process. She also has knockout wins over the likes of Hannah Cifers and Ariane Carnelossi.
