The No.14 ranked featherweight contender in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Dan Ige has been a phenomenal athlete in and out of the octagon. From stepping up for a PPV co-main event within hours of short notice, Dan Ige has proven to be a warrior over and over again. With over a decade of expertise in the sport, Ige maintains a record of 18 wins and eight losses in MMA. He holds six wins via knockouts, five via submission, and seven via decision.

For his last outing, Dan Ige went up against Diego Lopes at UFC 303 and lost via a unanimous decision. What makes it more interesting is that Lopes was supposed to face Brian Ortega for the event. However, Ortega pulled out on the day of the fight due to severe illness and Dan Ige was given a shot at Diego Lopes on a few hours notice. Moreover, Ige lasted three rounds with Diego Lopes inside the cage, exchanging punches and wrestling.

Dan Ige's fighting style

Dan Ige is a wrestling-based fighter. He has a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and a brown belt in judo. Moreover, kimura and taking the back are the two favorite wrestling techniques used by the American fighter.

Even though Dan Ige has his advantage on the ground, he does not limit himself to wrestling. When it comes to record, Ige boasts more knockout wins (six), than his submission wins (five). Hence, the 33-year-old American fighter can be called an all-rounder inside the cage.
