Jesse James Rodriguez Franco, popularly known as “Bam” is an American flyweight division boxer. He is currently the WBO Flyweight Champion, but he has also been the WBC Super Flyweight Champion. Prior to his professional boxing career, this veteran won a silver medal at the 2015 Junior World Championships in St. Petersburg.

Hailing from San Antonio, Texas, United States, Rodriguez made his professional boxing debut by defeating Mauricio Cruz via unanimous decision in Round 4 on March 10, 2017 in Carpa Astros, Tlalpan, Mexico. Since then, he has proved to be a formidable opponent in the ring for his opponents.

His major milestones in his career so far are becoming the WBC Super Flyweight Champion and the WBO Flyweight Champion, respectively. He is slated to take on the WBC super flyweight champion, Juan Francisco Estrada, at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, on June 29, 2024.

On February 5, 2022, he became the WBC Super Flyweight Champion by defeating Carlos Quadras by unanimous decision in Round 12. However, he relinquished the championship on October 26, 2022, as he wanted to compete in the flyweight division. Rodriguez subsequently became the WBO Flyweight Champion by defeating Cristian Gonzalez via unanimous decision in Round 12 on April 8, 2023. After his fight with Juan Francisco Estrada was officially announced, Rodriguez relinquished his IBF title.

After retiring from his career as a boxer, he is presently a boxing trainer and has prepared boxers like his younger brother Mikey Garcia, Anthony Joshua, Brandon Rios, and Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez. In 2011, The Ring Magazine voted him Trainer of the Year. The Boxing Writers Association of America did the same in 2012.
