Former kickboxer and Muay Thai fighter turned mixed martial artist, Jhonata Diniz made his way into the Ultimate Fighting Championship through Dana White's Contender Series 62 in 2023. Within a year of competition in the promotion, Diniz has already fought twice and is set to make his third outing. Moreover, starting his professional MMA career in 2022, the former kickboxer boasts an undefeated record of eight wins and no losses. What makes him more interesting is that most of his wins are via knockout (seven), and one via decision.

For his promotional debut, Jhonata Diniz faced Austen Lane on April 27, 2024, at UFC Fight Night: Nicolau vs. Perez in Las Vegas, United States. Within 2 minutes and 12 seconds into the second round, Diniz knocked out Lane and won the bout. He also earned a 'Performance of the Night' bonus for his performance showcase.
