Jiri Prochazka is the number two light heavyweight mixed martial artist who competes in the light heavyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He developed an interest in combat sports as a child and ventured into it at the age of 16. Prochazka trained in Muay Thai and won a national championship in 2011. He eventually shifted to professional mixed martial arts and made his debut in 2012.


Jiri Prochazka faced Stanislav Futera In the inaugural professional mixed martial arts fight of his career on April 7, 2012, at GCF 10: Battle in the Cage He made an impressive start to his professional career by beating Futera in the first round via KO. He went on to compile a four-fight winning streak before encountering his first professional loss against Bojan Veličković at SFC 1: Balkan Fighter Night on December 9, 2012. He returned to winning ways in his next two fights and finished his next two rivals within the first rounds.


Jiri Prochazka made his debut in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) at UFC 251 against Volkan Oezdemir on July 12, 2020, in Abu Dhabi, UAE. He won the fight via second-round KO, which also earned him the Performance of the Night award for his dominant performance. Since his debut in the promotion, Prochazka has featured in four bouts and won three of them. He defeated Glover Teixeira at UFC 275 on June 12, 2022, and won the light heavyweight title. Prochazka was later forced to vacate the title due to an injury. On his return to UFC 295, he squared off against Alex Pereira in a vacant UFC light heavyweight title bout but came up short as Pereira defeated him by second-round TKO to win the title.
