The former professional boxer turned promoter, Oscar De La Hoya has been an emphasis in the boxing world since making his debut. His professional debut dates back to 1992, and over the years, De La Hoya has been inside the ring facing some of the most dominant names to ever compete in boxing like Floyd Mayweather Jr, Manny Pacquiao, Bernard Hopkins Jr, Steve Forbes, etc.

Some of his accolades include WBO and IBF lightweight, WBC super lightweight, WBA, IBA, and the Ring light middleweight titles, over the years. On December 6, 2008, Oscar De La Hoya had his last professional outing, where he squared off against Manny Pacquiao. The bout lasted for eight rounds and Pacquiao won the fight via RTD at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada, United States.
