Rose Namajunas is an acclaimed professional mixed martial artist, who is currently signed with the leading professional mixed martial arts promotion, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Having reigned as the promotion’s strawweight champion twice, she now competes in the flyweight division where she is ranked No.5. Before her promotional debut in the elite mixed martial arts organization, Namajunas initially competed under the Invicta FC banner. She began training in multiple combat sports disciplines as a child. She made her professional mixed martial arts debut on January 5, 2013, against Emily Kagan at Invicta FC 4 in a strawweight showdown. Namajunas picked up a third-round submission victory and kicked off her career with a win. She eventually made her way to the UFC and faced Carla Esparza on December 12, 2014, in The Ultimate Fighter: A Champion Will Be Crowned Finale. Namajunas lost the fight by a third-round submission.

Namajunas bounced back in her coming fights and beat Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 217 on November 4, 2017, to win the UFC women’s strawweight title. She dropped the title to Jessica Andrade at UFC 237 by losing via a second-round KO. Her second reign began when she defeated Zhang Weili at UFC 261 to regain the strawweight strap only to lose it again to Carla Esparza at UFC 274. Namajunas then moved down to the flyweight division and faced Manon Fiorot in her flyweight debut at UFC Fight Night: Gane vs. Spivac in September 2023. The American lost the bout via unanimous decision.
