Former NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Rick Crawford has been convicted of the "attempted enticement of a minor" by the state of Florida.

According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida via motorsport.com, Crawford was convicted by a jury Thursday and faces a minimum 10-year sentence after he was caught attempting to arrange to have sex with a 12-year-old girl.

According to court documents obtained by Kickin' the Tires, Crawford was caught in a sting operation March 1 by officers trying to pay for sex with the 12-year-old girl. The documents indicate Crawford communicated with an undercover police officer who was posing as the father of the girl.

Crawford allegedly communicated with the officer on multiple occasions negotiating the transaction.

According to the court documents, the 60-year-old former NASCAR Truck Series driver allegedly told the undercover officer in a text he was looking to "f— and s—." The two then negotiated a deal between $50 and $75.

Crawford agreed to meet the officer and was arrested when he arrived.

He allegedly said at the time he would not have gone through with it because the girl was underage.

Crawford will now go through the sentencing face of his trial. His hearing is scheduled for Nov. 26.

The 60-year-old made 336 appearances in the truck series and had five career victories.
