Izumo Kamizuki in Naruto

Izumi and Kotetsu had their first appearance in the chunin exams and were disguised as genins. Team 7 recognized that they had cast a genjutsu on the exam arena, which showed them the skill set of each participant, after the end of the second round. As they undid the transformation after the first round, they said that the participants this year were quite promising.

Later, Izumi and the other chunin arrive alongside Ibiki as the invigilators for the next exam where they check if the students are cheating during the written exam, and if they catch someone cheating five times, they will fail the participant. Later on, during the fights, he and Kotetsu discuss Naruto Uzumaki's win in his fight with Neji and Shikamaru's talent.

They discussed that Shikamaru Nara is the best candidate amongst all the participants who should be promoted to the rank of Chūnin.

When Tsunade became a Hokage, Izumo and Kotetsu became her assistants and the guards of Konoha's front gates. They were the ones who informed Tsunade about Sasuke leaving the village after they found Sakura, who told them about what all happened.

Izumo and Kotetsu were in Asuma's Team when they were on a mission to find the Akatsuki members. They found Hidan and Kakuzu and during the fight, Kotetsu did a sneak attack on Hidan and stabbed him. However, Hidan survived, and when they pulled away from him and watched Asuma fall for Hidan's jutsu, they were unable to help him. Instead, they started fighting Kakuzu but were captured by him, Raido and Aoba rescued them.

After the fight, when they returned to the village, they along with Shikamaru informed Tsunade about Asuma's death and then were seen attending the funeral and mourning for Asuma.

During the Fourth Great Shinobi War, after they defeated the Gold and Silver Brothers, both he and Kotetsu attacked a reincarnated Kakuzu and slashed him with their blades, and then immobilized him by wrapping a chain attached to the blades around him. With the help of Shikamaru, Choji and Ino, the duo was able to seal him.

Shikaku then informs him and Kotetsu on how to deal with Kakuzu while Team 10 was busy fighting a reincarnated Asuma. Izumo states that it would be emotionally painful for them to fight Asuma but Shikaku states that they're the best at the job as they knew how the fighting styles of their former teacher.

Izumo is never seen without his best friend Kotetsu Hagane. Izumo is responsible, mature and has a serious looking face. He has respect and pride for all the work he's asked to do and tells Kotetsu that they should treat their jobs as the Hokage’s assistants seriously. He is also a germaphobe and pays a lot of attention to cleanliness but this doesn't affect his duties.

Izumo has brown hair which is combed down and covers his right eye and dark eyes. He wears his forehead protector like a bandana and the standard Konoha uniform with the flak jacket. His uniform goes up to his chin.

Izumu are capable of using Water Release and with the help of this, he can make a two-fold attack with his partner. He used Water Release: Starch Syrup Capturing Field to blanket the ground with water that immobilizes the enemy once they come in contact with it and then Kotetsu would then use Conch Shell Mace on the enemy.

Izumo uses large bladed weapons and he uses them with great proficiency and doesn't give his opponent a chance to escape. He can render his targets and immobilize them. Not only that, he can wield a bow.

Izumo Kamizuki not only appears in the series but also movies and is a playable video game character.
