Igor Andreev: A Brief Biography

Igor Valerievich Andreev is a Russian professional tennis player. Andreev made his ATP debut in September 2003 at Bucharest as a qualifier. Later that month, Andreev defeated Sjeng Schalken and his first ATP quarterfinal appearance. In 2004, he reached the finals of two ATP tournaments. He won a personal best o28 matches in the year, and also made his Davis Cup debut. It was also year he made his Grand Slam debut at the French Open. Later that year, he won his first ATP doubles title in Moscow with Nikolay Davydenko, after defeating Mahesh Bhupathi and Jonas Björkman. Andreev\'s first ATP singles title came in April 2005 when he defeated David Ferrer in the final. In 2010, Andreev played the 2010 Brasil Open, his first clay court tournament of the year and made it to the semifinals before losing out to Lukasz Kubot. Andreev is regarded as an offensive baseliner who possesses one of the most powerful forehands on tour.
