But Sharma's career took a significant turn in 2015–16 when he performed extremely well in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Jitesh Sharma IPL Career

Jitesh's attacking style in domestic cricket impressed the Mumbai Indians, who acquired him in 2016 for a base fee of Rs 10 lakhs. Despite his low profile during his tenure with the five-time champions, Jitesh was a valuable addition to the team. After being acquired by the Punjab Kings for his base price, Jitesh eventually played in his maiden IPL match in 2022.
Jitesh appeared in 26 games for PBKS during his first two seasons, originally filling the role of lower-order finisher due to his effective high strike-rate of over 150. Later, as PBKS struggled to find an opening partner for Shikhar Dhawan, the batter was also promoted to the opening position. He was named the 2024 IPL season's vice-captain of PBKS.
However, after an underwhelming season, he was let go by Punjab, and RCB signed him for the 2025 season. The season turned out to be a fantastic one as he scored more than 250 runs and won the IPL for the first time in his career.
