Introduction
Alomomola is a water-type Pokemon that was introduced in Pokemon Black and White and represents March within the Unova horoscope. It serves as a common Pokemon for Valentine’s Day based events due to its status as the Caring Pokemon. Alomomola resembles a combination of an ocean sunfish and a heart, and bears a remarkable resemblance to the Pokemon Luvdisc. Luvdisc is based upon attractional love and Alomomola is of maternal love and health, despite their similar appearance and identical typing. It is also notable for being the first non-Legendary Black and White Pokemon to appear in an episode of the Pokemon anime.

Appearance
Alomomola is a light pink, fish-like Pokemon with darker pink markings on the back of its body and heart-shaped fins. It has large dorsal and pelvic fins that resemble hands with each divided into four sections and painted a paler pink shade. The shape of the Pokemon is similar to that of a sunfish due to its lack of an actual tail fin. Alomomolo’s eyes are round with golden irises and an eyelash-like patch that extends up and back to the rest of the body.
Behavior
Alomomola lives in the open sea and when it finds an injured Pokemon in the ocean, it heals the Pokemon's wounds and brings it back to shore. It does this using a special membrane that envelops its entire body. However, Alomomola mainly does this because any predator that comes for the injured Pokemon could also come after it.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Alomomola has average stats with relatively high attack and defence stats, and an incredibly high HP stat. As a monotype water Pokemon, Alomomola is weak to grass and electric-types, has no immunities and is resistant to steel, fire, water, and ice-types.
Best moveset
Due to Alomomola’s remarkably high HP and solid defence stat, Alomomola can serve as an effective wall/support Pokemon. Wish serves as an HP recovery move, as it recovers 50% of Alomomola’s HP on the next turn. Protect ensures that Alomomola receives its HP boost from Wish and allows it to scout for potentially dangerous Pokemon. Knock Off removes potentially dangerous items and serves as mild type coverage. Finally, Scald serves as an effective fourth slot, as it can burn physical attackers and it serves as an effective STAB (same-type attack bonus) move for Alomomola.
