Dana Evans is a professional American basketball player who was born in Gary, Indiana, United States. She started her WNBA career with the Dallas Wings as a shooting guard, after being selected as the 13th overall pick in the 2021 WNBA draft. Evans played six games for the Dallas Wings before being traded to the Chicago Sky in the same season. Later that season, she won the WNBA championship with the Chicago Sky, securing her the spot on the WNBA All-Rookie team.

Dana Evans represented her country in the FIBA Americas Under-18 Women’s Championship and won a gold medal. She signed a contract with KSC Szekszard in 2022 to play in the Hungarian Women’s Basketball League. As of September 2024, Evans has played 140 regular season games, scoring 866 points, giving 283 assists, and grabbing 128 rebounds.

Dana Evans attended the University of Louisville in 2017 and played for the Louisville Cardinals. In her freshman year, she played 39 games, averaging 5.1 points and 2.0 rebounds per game. She was named to the ACC All-Freshman team in 2018 and was two-time ACC Player of the Year in 2020 and 2021. Evans played 135 games during her collegiate career, averaging 12.7 points, grabbing 2.4 rebounds, and making 3.9 assists per game. She earned a spot on the First Team All-American in 2021 by the Associate Press and the United States Basketball Writers Association.

Evans attended West Side Leadership High School in her hometown, Gary, Indiana. In her senior year, she averaged 7.6 rebounds and 35.8 points per game, helping her win the McDonald’s All-American honor. She was ranked 1st in her state and 5th nationally during her high school career.
