The Money in the Bank ladder match, first introduced by the WWE in 2005, has turned into a foundation of pro wrestling. This occasion gives the winner a guaranteed title match at any moment in a year, prompting probably the most astounding and energizing moments in WWE history. The idea is tailor-made for extraordinary scenes, from a superstar climbing the ladder to hold onto the briefcase, to their possible cash-in for an opportunity at a world title.

Since its origin, there have been 25 Money in the Bank cash-ins, with 21 grapplers successfully catching a title. While many have clutched the briefcase for a long time, sitting tight for the ideal moment, others have decided to quickly act. The trend of quick cash-ins has gotten some forward momentum in recent years, with half of the 10 quickest happening in the past four years, including Liv Morgan's sensational title win. Whether this shift mirrors an absence of long-term planning by WWE or a craving for shock value is open for banter among fans.

Shortest Money in the Bank Holder (Men)

WWE Hall of Famer and former world champion Kane is the shortest holder of the briefcase of Money in the Bank with only 50 minutes.

In 2010, the actual PPV started with the Money in the Bank ladder match as its first match for the World Heavyweight Title. The match included Matt Hardy, Big Show, Christian, Kane, Drew McIntyre, Kofi Kingston, Cody Rhodes, and Dolph Ziggler. Halfway through the match, Kingston played out a Boom Drop off a ladder on McIntyre through a broadcast table. Big Show ascended a super-sized ladder he had set up, yet Kane pushed it over. Rhodes and Christian covered Big Show under numerous ladders. Eventually, McIntyre attempted to recover the briefcase, however, Kane played out a chokeslam off the ladder on McIntyre and recovered the briefcase to dominate the game.

In the fourth match of the event, Rey Mysterio went head-to-head with Jack Swagger and the World Heavyweight Title was on the line. Mysterio played out a hurricanrana on Swagger and stuck him with a pin to hold the title. After the match, Swagger went after Mysterio, however, Kane entered the ring and chased off Swagger. After that, Kane then got back to the ring with a referee and his briefcase, choosing for cash in his agreement. This denotes the first time a grappler won and cash-in the briefcase on the same night. Kane then choke-slammed Mysterio, who was already injured before executing a Tombstone Piledriver to bring home the World Heavyweight Championship in 54 seconds.
