Scoot Henderson reveals his mindset to Candace Parker and Jamal Crawford: "I'm not going to let nobody out dog me or out hustle me at all"

G League Ignite star Scoot Henderson has garnered a lot of attention for his talent over the last year. However, in a conversation with Jamal Crawford and Candace Parker, Henderson revealed what traits he believed would make him successful in the NBA.

Scoot Henderson has been one of the most highly touted draft prospects in the last few years. Playing for G-League Ignite at the moment, the youngster has garnered a lot of attention for his skills and athleticism.

As an elite guard at a young age, Henderson truly meets the criteria for being viewed as a top pick in the draft. However, the only reason he isn't viewed as likely to be the number one pick is due to another immensely talented individual by the name of Victor Wembanyama being in the same draft class.

Regardless, Henderson has proven himself to be a force of nature in his own right. With tremendous ball handling ability and natural scoring instinct, the young guard could be a valuable asset for any team that drafts him.

While his talent and skill are certainly aspects that make him a potential star in the league, Henderson himself believes another trait will set him apart. Joining Jamal Crawford and Candace Parker on NBA TV, Henderson expressed how his mentality would bring him success in the league.

The conversation started off with a demonstration of how Henderson broke down the defense. While being guarded by Crawford while Parker was playing help defense, Henderson displayed his approach towards reading the defense.

While Crawford expressed some doubts regarding his decision to go directly at the help defender after beating the on-ball defender, Parker had to highlight Scoot's athleticism.

The approach towards facing up against a big in the paint displayed a lot of Henderson's aggressive mentality. When asked about what part of his game he hung his hat on by Parker, he said:

"I think it's just, like me and Jamal were talking about it earlier, it's that dog in me. I'm not going to let nobody out dog me or out hustle me at all. I'm playing 110% the whole time. So I think it's that aspect of my game that could take me pretty far."

Henderson's approach to the game certainly holds a lot of promise. As the youngster continues to develop as a player, several fans will keep a close eye on his career trajectory.

Scoot Henderson has the makings of a star

The G League has been key in the development of young players over the last few years. With some G League players developing into star-caliber players in the NBA, the development league has definitely come a long way in helping players grow.

In this regard, Scoot Henderson is presented as the cream of the crop. Although he wasn't eligible to be drafted in 2022, Henderson finds himself ranked alongside the best in the 2023 draft.

Playing his second season with the Ignite squad, Scoot has garnered a lot of attention for his exciting style of play. Displaying his full potential in his matchup against fellow draft prospect Victor Wembanyama, Henderson added a lot to his overall stock.

The youngster has been compared to LA Lakers superstar Russell Westbrook. While concerns regarding his perimeter shooting remain, the guard has the makings of a star in the league.
