High-flying Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon is already in his spectacular self even this early in the brand-new season of the NBA, impressing NBA fans with great plays in their opening game against the Los Angeles Lakers at home on Tuesday.
One of the plays came midway into the third period when on a break he caught a pass from point guard Jamal Murray for an alley-oop over LeBron James.
Interestingly, he seemingly held on to the rim first before throwing down the hammer. Still, it was counted as a basket.

The Nuggets opened their 2023-24 NBA campaign with the ring ceremony to celebrate their championship conquest last season.
Aaron Gordon was an important part of their run, averaging 16.3 points, 6.6 rebounds and three assists in the regular season. He further picked it up in the playoffs where he was do-it-all in support of Denver superstar Nikola Jokic and point laureate Jamal Murray in helping the Nuggets win their first-ever NBA title.
This season, his fourth in the Mile High City, Gordon will continue to be counted on to be steady on both ends and help his team in its quest to repeat as champion.
Aaron Gordon savors break after championship
Aaron Gordon made sure that he enjoyed his break following their hard-earned title conquest last season, going to different parts of the world, including Serbia and China.
The Arizona product joined superstar teammate Nikola Jokic in the latter’s native land to explore Serbia. He got to share one of the passions of the ‘Joker’ for horse racing, watching some of the races.

After his trip to Serbia, he made his way to China as part of his promotional tour for the sports brand he represents. There he shared his passion for basketball, showing off his ballhandling skills and spectacular jams as well as playing one-on-one streetball games with some members of the crowd.
Last season was a banner one for the 28-year-old, where his potential as a player was fully tapped by the Nuggets. He is now seeking to build on it in the new NBA season, which has just begun, where they will be the target of the rest of the field.
