Braxton Hicks plays as wide receiver for the Austin Peay Governors. He is a native of Tiger, Georgia, and graduated from Rabun County High School. Hicks helped his high school team to four consecutive regional championships and finished with an overall record of 48-5. He registered 183 receptions for 3,490 yards and 46 touchdowns, placing him third for collecting the most receiving touchdowns and 10th in receptions in the state of Georgia. Hicks has won the Atlanta Journal-Constitution All-State twice and was selected thrice in the first-team all-region team. He was also the Region 8-AA Athlete Player of the Year in 2019 and an all-star in the GACA North/South All-Star Classic in 2018.

Braxton Hicks began his college football career at the University of Georgia from 2020 through 2023. In 2020, he was redshirted as a true freshman and did not appear in any games. Although Hicks was redshirted as a freshman in 2021, he made his collegiate debut against UAB and also played against South Carolina and Charleston Southern. Hicks didn't play any games during the 2022 season but was on the roster for Georgia's championship-winning year. In 2023, Hicks played only one game against Ball State. Throughout his career at Georgia, he helped the team qualify twice for the College Football National Championship playoffs and won the 2022 Southeastern Conference Championship. As per his official Austin Peay Governors profile, he holds a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and is pursuing a master's degree in Communication Arts at Austin Peay State University.
