Garrett Nussmeier is a quarterback for the LSU Tigers as of September 2025. Before redshirting the season, Nussmeier participated in four games as a true freshman. After Max Johnson left the team, LSU asked the NCAA to allow him to start the Texas Bowl in January 2022 while keeping his redshirt status, but they were turned down. With 29 pass completions on 57 attempts for 329 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions, Nussmeier concluded the season.
Nussmeier attended Marcus High School in Flower Mound, Texas, and graduated as a four-star pro-style quarterback. He was among the best quarterback prospects in the country.
