Williams became one of the youngest players in FBS football when he made his first collegiate start in the first week of the 2024 season at the age of 17. His debut effort against Western Kentucky, where he caught two receptions for 139 yards and two touchdowns in the 63-0 victory, earned him SEC Freshman of the Week honors.
Williams, a five-star prospect, moved up to the 2024 recruiting class from the 2025 class. He had a touchdown reception during his appearance in the 2024 Under Armour All-America Game.
