Which nationality is Andrew Symonds' parents?
The legendary Australian all-rounder's birth parents were of Afro-Caribbean and Scandinavian descent.
Symonds' was adopted by an English couple- Ken and Barbara- in Birmingham, England, when he was three years old. The couple moved to Australia when he was a toddler.

While the name and whereabouts of 'Roy's' birthing parents is unknown, his adopted parents are Ken and Barbara Symonds. Andrew was given up for adoption by his natural parents when he was three months old.
Ken and Barbara, who worked as schoolteachers at the time, went on to adopt the young baby.
“I'm an adopted child, right, so I don't actually know my natural parents. I've never met them. But when I was six-weeks-old, my mother and father went to the clinic and they applied to adopt a child. And so the way that things worked back in those days was, they got to take me home for a week and just trial me. A test drive,’’ Symonds said in the Brett Lee Podcast earlier this year.
“And I remember mum tells the story that they took me home for the week and I played up and cried and was terrible, and so they went back to the clinic and were asked, "How did he go?" and she goes, "You know, he was an angel. He was perfect. We'd like to keep him".
“So they signed all the paperwork and I became Andrew Symonds, going home with Kenneth Walter Symonds and Barbara Symonds as their son.’’

Many wouldn't know but Andrew Symonds' first exposure to cricket came from his father, Ken- a school teacher- who was obsessed with the game.
In an interview with the Daily Mail UK, Symonds had revealed how his father used to throw balls at him all week, before and after school.
His dad used to drive him 270 Km twice a week so that he could train and practice at the Townsville Wanderers junior club.
“Dad was cricket mad,” Symonds previously said. “He'd throw balls to me five or six days a week, before school, after school. And we'd play all sorts of games inside the house with ping-pong balls and Christmas decorations’.’
Are Andrew Symonds' parents still alive?
Symonds' adopted father - Ken- passed away in December 2019. Ken was a teacher who taught at All Souls St Gabriels School in Victoria in the ‘70s and 80s.
There is no update on the current whereabouts of Andrew Symonds' adopted mother. We will update the same as and when we get some reliable information.

Symonds' biological father was either of Afro-Caribbean or Swedish origin. Not much information is available about his natural parents, other than the fact that they gave up Symonds for adoption when he was three years old.
