WATCH: 'Rahmbo' delights raucous Scottsdale crowd
Jon Rahm came over all Sylvester Stallone during the first round of the Phoenix Open on Thursday.
The Spaniard, a popular man at TPC Scottsdale having attended Arizona State University, dumped his standard cap for a headband emblazoned with 'Rahmbo' when he left the tee at the notoriously raucous 16th hole.
And to the delight of the grandstands, packed with up to 20,000 revellers who generate a unique atmosphere in the usually reserved world of golf, he knocked in his putt for birdie.
Alongside the cheers was laughter after one fan of the Spaniard, who three years ago donned an Arizona State Sun Devils jersey with 'Rahmbo' on the back at the same tournament, yelled out "Yo Adrian", a reference to another Stallone hit 'Rocky', with the putt heading towards the cup.
Right actor, wrong film…still top marks for effort!
Rahm was level par through nine holes of his opening round.
