Eddie Hearn is a British sports promoter and as of 2024, he is the chairman of Matchroom Sport and the Professional Darts Corporation. His father is Barry Hearn, who founded Matchroom Sport. Hearn studied at Brentwood School in Essex, an independent school where he was an active member of both the cricket and football teams. However, after poor grades in GCSEs, he joined Havering Sixth Form College in Hornchurch. Due to his father's influence who promised him money for good grades, Hearn did well in his A-levels.

Hearn was an employee of Matchroom Sport starting in 2000 but was initially focused on the company's golf management arm. He soon expanded to include online poker and other sporting events promotion. His rise as a boxing promoter began to build momentum in 2010 after meeting Audley Harrison during a poker game, followed by Harrison's fight against heavyweight champion David Haye. Since then, he has gained prominence in boxing promotion. Under Hearn's guidance, Matchroom Boxing has promoted a number of world champion boxers, including Anthony Joshua, Canelo Álvarez, Gennady Golovkin, Vasyl Lomachenko, and Katie Taylor.
