Floyd Schofield is one of the fastest-rising prospects in the lightweight division of boxing. The former NABF super featherweight champion is now gearing up for one of the most important fights in his career. The 22-year-old American boxer will go toe to toe with the WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson in a 12-rounder for the title on February 22, 2025. The title fight will be featured during the undercard of Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol 2 at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Shakur Stevenson is still undefeated in his game with an impeccable record of 22 wins and no losses, as of February 2025.

Additionally, Floyd Schofield is undefeated in professional boxing with a record of 18 wins and no losses, as of February 2025. For his last outing, Schofield squared off against the 26-year-old Mexican lightweight boxer, Rene Tellez Giron on November 2, 2024, in Las Vegas United States. After 12 rounds of intense exchanges, the American boxer won the bout via a unanimous decision. The majority of Schofield's wins are via knockouts (12), decision (five), and disqualification (one), respectively.

Floyd Schofield Sr., while talking to FightHype's Kevin Garcia said:

"When me and Floyd became homeless, that's the only tool [boxing] that I had to give him that I knew he could make money from. And that's how we got into boxing."

During the same interview, he revealed that he got into boxing through his father, who was a boxer back then. However, Schofield Sr. claimed that he was not a disciplined boxer and hence turned out to be a coach in the journey.
