Grant Dawson entered the UFC on March 9, 2019, with a victory over Julian Erosa via unanimous decision. He continued his success with a rear-naked choke win against Michael Trizano on May 18, 2019, earning the Performance of the Night award.
In early 2020, a USADA issue led to the cancellation of his fight with Chas Skelly at UFC 246, but it was rescheduled for February 29, 2020, where Dawson defeated Darrick Minner via submission, albeit missing weight.
