Having fought under the Strikeforce, Bellator, and Legacy Fighting Championship banners, Holly Holm was signed by the UFC in 2014. Her career peaked when she KO’ed the then-undefeated Ronda Rousey at UFC 193. The high kick knockout was awarded “Fight of the Night” and “Performance of the Night” bonuses.

Her hometown Albuquerque in New Mexico even named November “Holly Holm Month” to commemorate the victory. Speaking to NY Times, Holms revealed the finer details of the knockout sequence -

"In the second round, she came out, and I had her timing at that point. I knew I could pick my shots. She went for either a leg hook or to grab at me. It was almost in slow motion. I just dipped under it and that’s when she kind of went down into the cage. At that time I knew that if I impose my will a little bit I could finish. There was a shot that kind of dazed her and then a little bit of a scramble. And I pushed her off and she dropped. And when she got back up that was perfect timing for the kick, and the kick put her down."

Outside of MMA, not many people know that Holm is also the first and only UFC fighter to date to win belts in professional boxing and MMA. While she lost in her first MMA title defense, she has defended her welterweight boxing title for a record 18 times across three weight divisions. She is regarded as one of the best female welterweights in boxing and was crowned as “Fighter of the Year” twice by Ring Magazine.

Holly Holm’s ex-husband is Jeff Kirkpatrick. Like Holm, Kirkpatrick was born and brought up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His parents, Toni and Vicki raised him along with his two sisters, whose names aren't public. Majoring in accounting and finance, he is a student at the University of New Mexico.

He is publicly known as the ex-husband of the former women’s bantamweight champion, Holly Holm. After being in a relationship for several years, the couple got married on 27th April 2012 in Cancun, Mexico.

Holm filed the petition on Jan 3rd, 2019. However, it was revealed that the couple had not lived under the same roof for almost a year. Initially, the process was supposed to be private, but TMZ was the first one to report the story on Jan 13th, 2019. In an interview with Ariel Helwani, she gave her thoughts on the story going public -

"We'd kind of put it in for it to be a sealed case, just because I'm in the public eye and my husband has a family business locally," she said. "... We put in that we wanted it sealed, and they didn't (do so), which is fine with me.

"I'm one of those (people) that's always been an open book. I'm not trying to go through life acting like everything's perfect. I'm not trying to go through my life pretending like nothing's going on when it is."

She refused to go into the details of the situation with Kirkpatrick, however, did say that the divorce took a load off her head -

"Maybe I'll open up more about it later, I'm not really sure, But there's a lot of things I've been dealing with for quite some time, a very long time, and now I'm free of it."

"Every single one of us who fights has a personal life, and who knows what's going on? I'm going through a divorce, and somebody else might be going through losing their mom from cancer, or somebody else might be going through maybe (dealing with) a loved one who's a drug addict”

Holm labeled the divorce as the “challenge of her life” and something she’s really learned from.

What does Holly Holm's ex-husband Jeff Kirkpatrick do for a living?

After graduating, Kirkpatrick was hired by ADESA as a fleet manager. He held that position for a brief period before returning to Albuquerque to work at his family business, AAA Roofing Co.

The business was founded by his father, Tom, in 1991. Their website revealed that along with Jeff, his sisters are working at AAA Roofing. Working through the ranks, Jeff has now become the Vice President of Operations at the company.
