An Irish professional mixed martial artist, Ian Machado Garry, was born on November 17, 1997. He competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship's welterweight division. Garry held the title of Cage Warriors Welterweight Champion prior to joining the UFC. He is ranked 13th in the UFC welterweight standings as of August 2023.


Irishman Garry, who is originally from Portmarnock in Dublin, began competing in amateur mixed martial arts in November 2017 and ended his amateur career in November 2018. During that time, he amassed a 6-1 record.


The then-current Cage Warriors Welterweight Champion made his promotional debut on November 6, 2021, against Jordan Williams, winning by first-round knockout at UFC 268. He made his contract announcement with the UFC in July 2021.


On April 9, 2022, Garry faced Darian Weeks at UFC 273, and he triumphed by unanimous decision. On July 2, 2022, Gabriel Green and Garry squared off at UFC 276. Garry prevailed by a unanimous decision.


At UFC 285 on March 4, 2023, Garry faced Song Kenan, though he was knocked out in the first round and then won the fight in the third round by technical knockout.


On May 13, 2023, Garry faced Daniel Rodriguez in the UFC at an ABC 4 event. He won the fight in the first round by ground-and-pound TKO and a headkick, and he also received the Performance of the Night award as a result of his victory.


The bout between Geoff Neal and UFC welterweight Ian Garry has been postponed because Neal withdrew for unspecified reasons. Garry faced Neil Magny at UFC 292 and defeated him by a unanimous decision.
