Born on October 6, 1996, in Tijuana, Baja California, in Mexico, Jaime Munguia is a 28-year-old Mexican professional boxer. Inheriting the passion for boxing from his father, Jaime ‘El Rambo’ Munguia Sr. who himself was a heavyweight professional boxer, Munugia started training as a boxer from an early age. He joined the gym under the tutelage of his father to pursue his dream and was duly supported by ‘El Rambo.’ Before starting his professional career, Munguia fought in the amateur circuit around Mexico, earning accolades in the form of national tournaments and medals. After putting up strong performances as an amateur, he switched to professional boxing with the help of Zanfer Promotions, owned by Fernando Beltran.

At the age of 16, on July 13, 2013, Jaime Munguia eventually made his professional boxing debut against Manuel Mora at Forum Tecate, Tijuana, Mexico. He defeated Mora via a second-round TKO to start his career with a win. Since his professional debut, Jaime Munguia has been competing regularly inside the squared circle. As of May 2, 2025, he holds a professional record of 44 wins and 2 losses with a spectacular knockout-to-win ratio of 79.55%.

Jaime Munguia is a former WBO junior middleweight champion. After making five successful title defenses, he moved up to another weight class, as a middleweight Munguia defeated Tureano Johnson on October 30, 2020, by sixth-round RTD to win the WBO Intercontinental middleweight championship.

Jaime Munguia outclassed Sergiy Derevyanchenko on June 10, 2023, for the vacant WBC Silver super middleweight title by defeating him by a unanimous decision. He defended his title once on January 27, 2024, against John Ryder by shutting his lights off in the ninth round of their 12-round showdown.
